A year to remember
On August 28th, 2004, John and I got married. I'm honor of our first anniversary, I want to take a moment to reflect on the best wedding we've ever been to...our own. We didn't have a very formal wedding. We got married in a birch grove, near a lake. I walked down the aisle to a flamenco guitarist. I wore chartreuse shoes. Our reception included a huge Mediterranean feast, lots of champagne, dancing to a swing band, and swimming in the lake.

It's been a great year. Being married hasn't really been much different than living in sin, except that at some point during the year, I had to remember to sign a new name and John had to remember to put his ring on each morning. It took us both a few months. But after a year, all I can think is how glad I am that I married him.

Happy Anniversary! I can't believe you went in with your wedding dress on!
it was sweltering that day. the hottest day of the summer. i didn't want to change out of my dress though, since it would be the only day i ever wore it. so i swam in it. joke was on me though - silk gets REALLY heavy when wet. i couldn't swim in it, so my friend lifeguard swam me out to the dock.
