Zip it!

i haven't written an update on Hoodwinked lately. i finished it...sort of. i woke up one morning, knowing that i wanted to finish it. i hemmed the sleeves and bottom, made the pom poms...and then started the dreaded zipper. and funny thing - the zipper turned out great! all that worrying for nothing. i assembled it with the zipper closed, so i knew it would line up, and when i looked at it, it sure was lined up. so then i had to make sure it laid correctly when unzipped. so i unzipped it. and the zipper worked! it unzipped smoothly...all the way to the bottom of the zipper. where it promptly stopped. and wouldn't separate. because i used a non-separating zipper. on a cardigan. not my smartest move. BUT, not a complete disaster, since it can easily be snipped out and replaced. the new zipper...the correct zipper...is on order. the good news is that i tried it on the monkey and it fits loosely, which is what i intended. room to grow. i will post photos when it all comes together.

in the meantime, while i await the arrival of my peacock blue zipper, i'm starting the Honeymoon cami from Knitty. i think i may be making it a size too big, so it may also be a gift, but the mistakes are minimal and it looks nice. photos of that to come too, when there's something interesting to show.
